ST-911 PIGMENTS FOR BLEED FREE VINYL APPLICATIONS

ARON ST-911 pigments are specifically developed to virtually eliminate color migration in flexible vinyl applications. Thermoset nature of these products inhibits the migration of color, provides greater ease in processing and imports physical characteristics very similar to conventional organic pigments.

Chemical Nature

ST-911 pigments are solid solution of fluorescent dyes in thermoset resin matrix. Unlike other standard fluorescent pigments, this material does not melt upon processing. This pigment maintains discreet particles during processing, relying on pigments dispersion for color development. Therefore, there is no required minimum processing temperature while incorporating this colorant.

Applications

ST-911 pigments are recommended for flexible vinyl, vinyl plastisols and organosol applications. This product’s non-migrational properties makes it well suited for these highly plasticized applications.

These pigments can also be used in liquid inks (Flexo), Eva coloring, natural rubber coloring, plastic coloring, paint & coatings etc.,

Because of its thermoset nature, this product exhibit excellent solvent stability, heat stability and does not cause buildup on calendaring on two roll mill equipment and exhibits a low degree of plate-out on material surfaces of processing equipment.

Transparency

ST-911 pigments are slightly opaque in nature, they do not produce optimum edge glow effect. To increase opacity in the final application, titanium dioxide may be added at starting concentrations of 0.02% based on pigments.

Heat stability

ST-911 pigments exhibit minimal color shift at 175° C after one hour on a two-roll mill. This product exhibits a maximum processing temperature of approximately 260° C well above the heat stability of PVC.

Color Migration & Bleeding

ST-911 pigments have been specifically formulated to resist color migration or bleeding during normal processing conditions in vinyl applications. Aggressive internal testing at elevated temperatures and for extended time periods have resulted in minimal to zero bleed.
